A goalkeeper jersey is the shirt worn by the goalie, and it looks different from everyone else’s on purpose. It comes in a contrasting color so the referee can spot the keeper instantly, and it often has long sleeves with light padding at the elbows and shoulders for diving. Why it looks different

The number one feature of a keeper jersey is its color. Rules require the goalkeeper to wear something clearly different from both teams and the officials. Features to look for

Keeper jerseys are usually long-sleeved, which gives a little protection when diving on turf or hard ground. Many have light padding at the elbows, and some add it at the shoulders too.
